Siam Costumes take a seat at the Round Table

We are very excited to announce that we are currently working on Guy Ritchie’s upcoming feature film, Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur.

Set to star Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Queen Guinevere. Jude law and Djimon Hounsou are two other actors who are rumored to star alongside Charlie and Astrid.

Funnily enough this will be the third feature film that we have worked on, which Charlie Hunnam has also starred in. Knights of the Round table is currently set for 2016 release, so watch this space!

From Bangkok to The Big Screen

This year yet again Siam Costumes has been on a journey of a lifetime; Whether it was a dangerous quest among mythical gods through ancient Egypt or searching for love in a futuristic world where emotions have been eradicated, Siam Costumes once again live to tell the tale.

From those first phone calls, emails and meetings, going through designs, going through and taking measurements, fabric choices, buttons, shoes, making and altering the patterns, making and altering the costumes, all the way to the sending and receiving…and that’s just me keeping it short and simple. It’s always a blessing to be able to sit back with some pop corn and a drink and witness everyone’s hard work being displayed on the big screen.

Towards the end of this year and next year we and yourselves can witness our work in such feature films and TV productions such as; Crimson Peak, Equals, The Water Diviner, The Hobbit: Battle of The Fiver Armies, By Way of Helena, Deadline Gallipoli, The Originals, The Secret River and Dr Blake Mysteries. Although 2016 may seem a long time away, for us not so much as we look forward to seeing our work on Gods of Egypt and Guy Ritchie’s Knights of The Roundtable: King Arthur, which we are currently working on. So watch this space!

Siam Costumes International F.C

Latest Breaking News: It’s official Siam Costumes International has started its very own Futsal / 5 a side football team.

10649761_10152818039220132_4595858108071673330_n  Sebastian (Center forward),Singh (Goal Keeper,) Nee (Center back), Phong (Attacking Midfielder) Alex (Defensive Midfielder)

For the past couple of months Siam Costumes have been training weekly with the local 5 a side/futsal teams, both at Arsenal’s Thai training ground and Phra kanong futsal pitch. The exciting yet controversial new football coach/ Owner of Siam Costumes recently caused a media frenzy at the press conference: “Yes we are a new team, Yes none of our players have had previous professional or semi professional experience and Yes I have no coaching or football experience but nor do any of the other teams”. They’re first friendly pre season game will commence sometime next month with a western based team in Bangkok. We look forward to see whether they’re roaring fire-red / royal stylish gold football kits will match they’re style of play.

Siam Costumes do have one advantage perhaps, unlike the other teams they have a full department of staff behind them from Fitness Coach to masseur, not to mention they’re very own water boy.

Siam Equals Costumes

When Siam Costumes were recently approached and asked to work on the upcoming Sci-Fi film Equals, we were more than thrilled. As this news is fairly recent and as much as I hate to repeat myself, I will not be able to share any information on the production or of costumes as of yet, but fear not once more information has been officially released then I shall take you further into the loop.

For those who may not know, Equals is a futuristic love story set in a world where emotions have been eradicated, set to star Kristen Stewart alongside Nicholas Hoult and also the renowned actor Guy Pearce, which will be his second time working with the director. From the critically acclaimed author Nathan Parker who brought eye-opening stories in recent years such as Moon to the big screen, which was also a Sci-fi classic amongst the critics and film lovers. Based on the author and story, we may expect to see a collaboration of Moon and Equilibrium with a sweet romantic touch or perhaps something completely different. The Director Drake Doremus could be a new name to most but to some he is known for his independent romantic/Drama yet innocently comedic films such as Like Crazy and Breathe In.

2013 Movie releases: From Siam to Hollywood

As the year once again draws to an end and 2014 is almost amongst us, we take the time to reflect on what has been yet another great year. In this post we will be focusing purely on the movies we have worked on. Whether its fighting off Ninjas in Japan, Uniting with the gods and saving the world, Being held captive on the Thai/Burma Border by Japanese soldiers, Taking down one of Los Angeles most notorious Gangsters, Stealing treasure off a Dragon and many more memorable stories.

The Following are films that we worked on the year before however saw there release this year:

MV5BMTcwMjAyMTUzMl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwODgxNzk1OA@@._V1_SY317_CR0,0,214,317_

The area is Los Angeles and the year is 1949, the notorious Jewish gangster Micky Cohen; who is short in both height and temper, though his organised crime empire is at large and due to this he has taken over the city. An undercover crew of police officers led by a determined sergeant, do everything they can to take down the boss and not exactly by the book.

It was our first time working with the wonderful costume designer Mary Zophres who has worked on classic after classic from “O brother where art thou”, “Catch me if you can” and “No country for old men”. Although it wasn’t out first or second time working the costume designer assistant, Terry Anderson who has worked on hit films such as “3:10 to Yuma”, “Inception” and “J.Edgar“. We worked with Terry a year before on “Captain America” where we made a load of 1940’s suits shirts footwear etc which is why when we got the order for Gangster Squad it was something we were very familiar with,we ended up making again Suits, Overcoats, Shirts and Ties.

2. The Wolverine (26th July)

Wolverine_Inmortal_New_Poster_latino_e_Cine_1

After trying to live a somewhat normal life among ordinary people, out of the blue Wolverine is summoned to Japan, where he meets an ex Japanese soldier, who he had saved during the war however he is now sitting in his death-bed on top of a multi million business. Wolverine is offered the one thing that he deemed indefinite by most but impossible for him, that being death. He finally gets to face his demons.

Once again it was our first time working with costume designer Isis Mussenden who did an amazing job on the Narnia trilogy. For The Wolverine we made the Ninjas outfits that you see when Wolverine is captured by these fiends . They also appear when the leader of the Ninja’s fights alongside Wolverine in the finale fight scene.

3. Thor: The Dark World (30th October)

THURS_003B_G_ENG-GB_70x100.indd

6. The Railwayman (26th December)

MV5BMTQzNDU1NjE0NF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwODA3NDczMDE@._V1_SX214_

The Railwayman based on the autobiography of Eric Lomax, who was one among thousands of prisoner of war, forced to build the railway between Thailand and India. After making a secret radio to inform and warn other prisoners, Eric is tortured, beaten and isolated. It is not until after the war when he meets Patti and falls in love. With her help and support , she enables him overcome his traumatic past. However the past is never that far away, when he meets up with his comrades the whereabout of the man who took him so near to deaths door is known and Lomax is elected to reap revenge on savage sadistic adversary

It was our first time working with the  designer Lizzy Gardiner who was the youngest designer to win an oscar for costume, and rightly so “Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”was an amazing piece of work on an almost non-existent budget.. This was the largest amount of costumes we made for a movie last year, with hundreds upon hundreds of Uniforms, shirts, footwear and headwear  for both the Japanese/Allied  soldiers, Officers and prisoners. So we look forward to Boxing day where we finally get to see how our costumes look on the big screen.

Next time we will be looking at the costumes we made for Movies and T.V series this year however won’t be realised until next year or the year after.
